Injective and SVM Sonic have teamed up to create the Smart Agent Hub. This hub will enable cross-chain AI applications as well as cryptocurrency bridges between Solana (Solana) and Injective.
A new crosschain initiative will allow developers to quickly deploy Solana AI agent applications to the Injective (INJ), blockchain. According to Injective blog, the Layer-1 blockchain protocol Injective is launching the Smart Agent Hub in partnership with Solana Virtual Machine blockchain Sonic. This platform will integrate AI agents within the decentralized Injective eco-system.
Hub starts with Solana
The Smart Agent Hub will debut its testnet during the first quarter 2025. Full integration will occur in phases. The hub will enable developers to deploy AI agent applications based on Solana using Remote Procedure Call. This initiative uses Sonic's infrastructure, as well as the Inter-Blockchain Communication Protocol, to create a direct connection between Injective WebAssembly and Solana. A bridge will also be created for the transfer of SOL-based and Solana tokens along with wrapped and native Injective Tokens.
This collaboration follows Injective's unveiling of its iAgent Software Development Kit, which integrates OpenAI into AI agents to analyze data, predict trends, and execute trades. Injective announced a vision of a Multi VM future that would allow developers to create agents by using different virtual machines.
AI Agents Gaining traction
As Injective has shown, the potential for AI agents to grow is huge. Fetch.ai, Virtuals Protocol and other companies account for more than half of the $11.2 billion market cap. The market cap of decentralized finance is $145 billion, and stablecoins are $208 billion.
AI agents are being explored by other industry players. In October, cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase launched the Based Agent AI Agent-Building Tool. Near Protocol's Near Intents is currently in beta and facilitates trading between native cryptocurrencies. It also interacts with any wallet or blockchain using smart contracts. The Story Protocol developed a framework that allows AI agents to trade intellectual property.
