BNB Chain is sponsoring ETH Oxford 2025 and hosting a hackerhouse to promote blockchain innovation. Workshops and a hackathon, with a prize pool of $156,000, are key events.
BNB Chain will play a major role in the ETH Oxford hackathon 2025, according to BNB Chain. The Mathematical Institute of Oxford University will host the event from February 7 to 9, 2025. BNB Chain, as a sponsor of the event, aims to promote decentralized ecosystem development by engaging one of UK's fastest growing developer communities.
Highlights of BNB Hacker House and Events
BNB Chain is establishing a hacker's house in Oxford to support the hackathon. The facility will be geared towards developers who are working on BNB Chain-related projects. Accommodation requests will be managed by ETH Oxford. On February 8, a public event featuring a breakfast and coffee will be held to provide networking opportunities for participants.
Prizes and Innovation Opportunities
ETH Oxford is a place where innovation will be embraced without limitations. The focus of the hackathon will be on Decentralized Science and AI. However, developers can explore other areas. The hackathon has a prize pool of $156,000, with the winning team receiving a $2,500 prize, a $100,000 start-up package and an interview to be part of BNB Chain's Most Valuable Builder Program. A special $1,000 bonus is also available for the best BNB Greenfield project, BNB Chain’s decentralized storage system.
Workshops and Technical Session
BNB Chain, in conjunction with the hackathon will host a workshop that will focus on the differences between Ethereum Smart Chain and BNB Smart Chain. This session, which is scheduled to take place on February 8 between 12:15 and 1:15 pm, will also introduce the BNB Smart Chain ecosystem.
Submission of Projects and Criteria for Scoring
For projects to qualify for rewards they must be open-source, new, and deployed on the opBNB/BSC testnet or mainnet. Participants are also required to ensure that at least two transactions were completed within the timeframe of the hackathon and submit artifacts like GitHub repositories or demo videos. The projects will be scored on factors such as contract verification, open source code, roadmaps, documentation, engagement with the community, and innovative designs.
The ETH Oxford Hackathon is a great opportunity for developers, both new and experienced, to show off their skills, interact with the community of blockchain enthusiasts, and explore possible collaborations. Participants can expect to connect with top developers and investors from the Web3 community, enriching the BNB Chain Community.
