Ulli Schulz shares his insights into the role Render Network played in his 3D Design journey. He highlights its impact on future projects and his creative workflow.

Ulli Schulz: A Creative Journey in 3D Design

Ulli Schulz is a 3D artist who has made waves in the digital landscape. According to an interview with Render Network published recently, his work - from bee animations at high speed to futuristic cityscapes - has been influenced significantly by the Render Network.

From photography to 3D design

Schulz began his transition to 3D design during design school, when he chose Cinema4D as a project over photography. Octane render, which gave him instant feedback on his 3D designs and fueled his passion to create something from nothing, fueled Schulz's desire to create.

Impact of Render Network

The Render Network played an important role in Schulz’s creative process. This was especially true when he had to meet tight deadlines. The Render Network, for example, allowed for rapid rendering during a project with THEO Laser welding without affecting local machine performance. This was essential for meeting a 12-day deadline to produce a 30-second CG Animation.

Asian Design and Influence

Schulz's minimalistic lifestyle in Asia also influenced his design. His style is a mix of German structure with Asian freestyle. He emphasizes functionality and harmony in the midst of chaos, similar to busy Asian metropolises.

Future Projects & Collaborations

Schulz has a project in the works for a Netflix intro sequence that will be a 3000 frame-long representation of a futuristic metropolis. The Render Network is able to achieve this ambitious project, which shows its ability to push the creative boundaries. Schulz also collaborates with Carsten Böhnert, another 3D artist on upcoming projects.

Render Network: A 3D Design Community's Resource

Render Network supports the digital art community beyond Schulz's own personal projects through initiatives such as the Render Royale competition. This monthly competition gives artists the opportunity to showcase their work and win prizes, while also fostering innovation across different rendering platforms.
